I am such a big fan of coconut, I just seriously love the taste. I love bounty bars as well, but rarely eat them because lets face it – they are not really that healthy. I have seen the homemade bounty bar on Pinterest for ever but just never really thought about making it. Until now. And wow! It is even better than the original one and ONLY 3 ingredients. Although I must admit that covering the bar with chocolate was really hard so I got my sister to do it for me.
Ingredients:
- One can of condensed milk
- 200g shredded coconut
- 2-300 g chocolate (depending on how thick layer you want)
Directions:
- Combine the condensed milk and coconut in a bowl
- Put the bars on a baking sheet and roll it evenly out to about 3 cm thick (put one baking sheet on top and one on bottom and use a rolling pin on top)
- Let it set in the fridge for a couple of hours
- Melt chocolate using a double boiling method
- When the chocolate is slightly cooled spread about ¼ of it over the top of the bar and let it set in the fridge
- Flip the bars, cut into pieces and spread slightly, spread the remaining melted chocolate on the top and sides and let set in the fridge
- Enjoy the delicious bounty bars – for taking on the road cover in a baking sheet or plastic
