I found this Mint Lemonade Vodka recipe on Laylitas Recipes and I knew had to try it straight away! I modified the amount of ingredients to make it the way I like it and its super yummy! It’s also really simple to make. I am actually going to show you two different ways to serve this drink, an aperitif version and an on the rocks version.
Mint Lemonade Vodka Aperitif
This is such a perfect drink to serve as an aperitif. It’s slightly bitter, but you should only serve it in a small glass. Try tasting it first as you might need to add more water. I decided to pour mine straight into glasses because I was serving mine straight away. However, if you want to, you can also serve it in a pitcher with ice, a few sliced lemon pieces and mint leaves.
Ingredients:
- 1 lemon
- a small bunch mint leaves
- 3 cups of ice-cold water
- 2 tbs honey
- 2 ounces vodka
- Ice cubes
Directions:
- Cut the lemon into 8 pieces and remove all the seeds.
- Place the lemon, ½ cup water, honey, ice and mint leaves in a blender.
- Strain the lemonade and add the rest of the water.
- Add the vodka and shake like a crazy person. (I had to shake in two batches)
- Drink this delicious drink.
Mint Lemonade Vodka on The Rocks
This is such a delicious drink to drink on the rocks as well. It taste really fresh and is a lot less bitter than the aperitif version. This is due to the mint leaves not being crushed as well as only using the lemon juice. It still has a lot of lemon taste, so if you are not a super fan of lemon try using the juice of half a lemon. Serving: 4.
Ingredients:
- 1 lemon
- 10-15 mint leaves
- 1.5 cups of ice-cold water
- 1-2 ounces vodka
- Ice cubes
Directions:
- Juice the lemon
- Add the lemon juice, mint leaves, water and vodka in a drink shaker
- Shake like a crazy person
- Serve over the rocks in a glass
- Drink this delicious drink
