One of the most traditional Norwegian cookies, made with Ammonium Bicarbonate, or Hornsalt as its called in Norwegian, to make its unique taste. It’s a really simple cookie to make and it can be decorated as well. Originally they were made to look like men and women, but now you can use any type of cookie cutters to make any shape you like.
Ingredients
- 2 dl milk
- 80 g butter (melted and cooled)
- 300 g sugar
- 600 g flour
- 1 tsp ammonium bicarbonate
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients
- Roll out the dough
- Use cookie cutters to cut out different shapes
- do 2-3 over again until all the dough it used
- Bake in 175 C (350 F) for 12-15 minutes
- Allow to cool, serve or decorate with for example coloured icing sugar or food colouring (apply by dipping with toothpicks and paint)
