I have been super lucky to have found Blogelina, this great blog with lots of tips and I really would recommend her Blogging Class. I took a four-week blogging course which included these four topics: “What are your blogging goals?”, “Getting your blog ready for visitors”, “Planning for profitable success” and “The sky’s the limit”. Today I will be talking about the first two, and the last two on Wednesday. I will give you 6-8 sentences of important things related to the topic and then give you my progress report.
What are your blogging goals?
It is important to have goals for motivation, focus and increased productivity.
It is important to now what you want from your blog and for your blog.
Areas to consider when setting goals: Traffic, Content, Making Money, Time.
Make your goals attainable, be specific and make long and short-term goals.
What can you do to reach your goal? What can you do today? or this week?
Remember to keep track of your goals! How can you know you have reached them if you don’t keep track?
My Goals:
My goals for August, I still have almost one week to make it!
- 300o views (2283 now, missing 717. 120 per day)
- 10 followers by email (3 now, missing 7)
- 3 posts per week (check)
- Make $10 ($0 made, $10 missing)
Getting your blog ready for visitors
Make your blog a place to stick around.
Have an attractive design, find a blog you like, scroll to the bottom and see the link to the designer or theme.
Make it easy to contact you!!!!
Beef up your about page, what do you want people to know about you? about the background/history of your blog?
Your blogroll, a list of blogs to recommend to your readers
A search bar!!!!!
Facebook / Twitter / Pinterest / Etc, link on your homepage
Content, have 5 – 10 posts in a ready-to-go stash. Finish posts one week ahead of time.
Getting my blog ready:
- Re-write my about page (posting next week for So You Wanna Be A Blogger)
- Create a Blogroll
- Write my posts ahead of time (I really suck at this one, I always end up writing the same day)
That is all I had for today! I hope you found this interesting and will help my achieve my goals! Do you have any blogging goals?? What do you have to do to get your blog ready?? Id love to hear from you, so I could help you achieve your goal too!
