I actually managed to finish my three-day juice Reboot with Joe and followed this plan. The experience in its self was quite challenging. I did experience some setbacks during the period and well had a more or less constant chocolate craving. I never found any beets (went to 5 stores) so that I just had to remove. I wrote a short diary entry after each day which I included below.
Day 1:
I had to go to the store and buy everything I needed in the morning. Oh, they did not have everything I needed. I had to just skip some ingredients the first day. The juices I had was:
Breakfast: Carrot-Apple-Lemon
Coconut water: (did not have so tried mixing water and coconut flakes – YUCK!
Lunch: Garden Variety
Afternoon Snack: Austrailian Gold
Dinner: Garden Variety
Dessert: Purple Passion
First day is done and I am feeling quite ok. During the middle of the day I got kinda moody and just didn’t really know what to do with myself. Luckily I have understanding coworkers! The only bad thing is that since I got back from holiday yesterday and the shops were closed then I had to shop this morning. And they did not have everything I needed so I had to skip some ingredients for today’s juices. I have everything except beets (which I cannot find in a store that’s not moldy).
Day 2:
Breakfast: Peach Pie Delight
Coconut water: Tastes ok
Lunch: Green Lemonade
Afternoon Snack: Pine-Lime-Lemon
Dinner: Green Lemonade
Dessert: Carrot-Apple-Ginger
I feel like crap. The hunger feeling is coming and going, but I just cannot seam to focus. And I still cannot find beets anywhere which makes me want to cry. I cant really focus and stuff.. I was actually not able to finish my dinner today. but yea, only tomorrow left… and last night I got a cramp in my leg while sleeping, and today when I was going up some stairs I kinda missed the first step and ended up hurting my leg too – which continued to hurt the rest of the day. Looking forward to Thursday! And I seriously want chocolate!!
Day 3:
Breakfast: Un-Beet-Able (minus beets)
Coconut water: Tastes kinda good
Lunch: Joes Mean Green
Afternoon Snack: Pine-Lime-Lemon
Dinner: Joes Mean Green
Dessert: Just Beet It (minus beets)
I woke up this morning and I was so extremely tired. I did not want to wake up at all. I had such a bad night, bad dreams, waking up being to hot, etc. I also felt like I had no energy, and despite feeling like I would starve I did not have any food. Walking my dog this morning was so exhausting even though we took a slow and short walk. I was not able to finish my afternoon snack, dinner or dessert today. I just stopped being hungry really and I tried to force it down, with no luck. I did go for a short jog in the evening with my dog (she had so much energy so I wanted to have a fast pace, it worked – she fell asleep so fast when we got home)
Evaluation:
I would say the first 2.5 days were the worse. My energy was down and my focus was pretty non-exsisting. I know this is quite normal. Did it help? Honestly – no idea haha! I started the first day after the diet feeling just really tired and really unmotivated. I was feeling so sick and did not want any food at all. I managed to eat some omelette for breakfast, and work in the morning, I felt like puking the first hour. Then I managed to eat a banana, which kinda helped. Then I ate another banana and throughout the day ate dried mangoes (I only found with sugar, but that helped a LOT so oh well). Hopefully it will be continue to get better in the next couple of days. I have decided to start going on a paleo diet. Just to check it out. I have just been juicing for three days so I do not really want to go back feeling like I was. So far so good – check out my instagram account for more details on the food I am eating.

Interesting plan. I’ve tried juicing a few times. This was a good reminder of how many awesome flavors I can mix up. I’m not sure if I’ll try this detox plan, but I’ll definitely try to get my juicing into my daily routine.

Thats the thing, when I have been making juices its been more or less the same thing every time – so it is really nice to mix it up a little. You really get a sence of all the grat recipes out there!

I’ve always wanted to do a juice cleanse, but I can’t right now because I am breastfeeding. Maybe once I quit, I can do one! I have heard from others that the first couple of days are the hardest as well, but so worth it!

I wish you the best of luck! Now I am currently trying to work more juices into my diet!

Wow, this sounds so tough… and unhealthy to be honest. You were really brave for continuing though! I see you’re thinking about the Paleo diet now. I can highly recommend it! I’m not following it 100%, but a lot of my meals are Paleo and low-carb. There are so much really yummie meals in that departement! And the weight loss results are amazing. Good luck!

It was tough. And I have read a lot of articles so I know its quite contriversal – but I decided to just try it for myself – and also figured three days would not kill me. My grandmother used to do it when she was younger and she did it for ten days!

I’m about to start going to the gym today! I think a good detox is in order. Thanks for sharing!

Good luck!

Thanks for sharing your juicing journey. After doing much research myself (I work as a professional nutritionist) i concluded its not for me due to the high sugar content of so much fruit, but I’ve seen a lot of people that do well on short term juicing detoxes. And I love me a green smoothie in the mornings! 🙂

Thats one thing I really liked about this detox – it does not have that much fruit compared to others I have seen.

I only bought a new juicer the other day and tried it out over the weekend, I am really looking forward to trying different juices and working these into my daily routine. Thanks for sharing 🙂

That is the one thing I liked the most – trying out different recipes!
