My living room makeover will consist of two parts, the first today is the couch are and friday I will be posting about the TV unit. As I mentioned about in the introduction we have for the first time switched around the furniture in the living room in January after painting the walls grey. I also mentioned then that I could not find a proper photo of it, but I have now. Turns out I was looking in the wrong place. These photos are from December 2011 – therefore there are christmas decorations present.
Here is the photos I took before I started. I admit I did cheat a tad and had removed a couple of glasses and other items last night when I was tidying.
This area is usually quite messy. My sister and I are terrible at tidying after ourselves. Of course this has now changed. Once an area is done it STAYS that way! I have started getting into the habit of tidying 15-30 minutes before I get ready for bed.
I did not do too much here. I washed the blankets, but the pillows outside to air dry and vacuumed the couch. I want to get new and taller legs for the couch but it is no longer in production and therefore we cannot get new legs, new couch maybe? I find it quite hard to vacuum under and it well that’s problematic.
For the table I first removed everything and gave it a nice clean with 50-50 water and 7% vinegar, my go to cleaning solution! My sister bought a white vinyl fabric to cover the scratched white tabletop and one for the dining room. Underneath the table there is a shelf and here there have been two IKEA boxes, one for my sister and one for the remote. I figured it was about time that I also had a place to dump my stuff and found another one for me. And here is the final result:
I am really happy with the new look. Everything looks so neat. And the vinyl fabric made such a huge impact. However, my taste is not so black and white so come by on Friday and I will be telling you how I plan on changing that.
